"Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical and Experimental Particle Physics"

Job description:

The high energy physics group at School of Physical Science and Technology & Lanzhou Center for Theoretical Physics, Lanzhou University, invites applications for several postdoctoral research positions in theoretical and experimental (BESIII) particle physics. The selected candidates will be expected to make major contributions to: 1) either the phenomenological research in hadron physics theory; 2) or the analysis of BESIII data, particularly in the area of hyperon physics related to the pair production, the study of CP violation, search for excited hyperon states and so on. The positions are open immediately and will remain open until filled.

About our group

For hadron physics theory, our group has been tracking and paying attention to the latest research frontiers on exotic hadron states, and has also made in-depth research on various phenomenological models. Our group systematically and deeply carried out fruitful phenomenological research on a series of exotic hadron states that found in major international high-energy physics experiments, and made a series of cutting-edge research achievements that attracted the attention of peers at home and abroad. Our research works have played a good theoretical guidance in hadron physics research in major high-energy physics experiments in the world, such as BESII/BESIII experiment at BEPCII in China, BABAR experiment at SLAC and CDF/DØ experiment at Fermilab in the US, Belle experiment at KEK in Japan, LHCb experiment at LHC in the Europe and so on.

For high energy physics experiment, our group applied to join the BESIII collaboration in 2009, which laid a foundation for the development of particle physics experiment of Lanzhou University. BESIII experiment aims for an experimental study of high-energy particle physics in τ- charm energy region using BESIII detector at BEPCII. In recent years, our group has achieved many innovative results around the research topics of the international frontier, particularly in the area of hyperon physics, such as the pair production and decay of hyperons, the study of CPV in hyperon decay, search for new excited hyperon and exotic hadron states.

Salary:

Expected salary for candidate is around 200,000 CNY/year or higher before tax. The successful applicant is strongly encouraged to apply “Cuiying Postdoc” project of Lanzhou University with the expected salary around 300,000-400,000 CNY/year or higher before tax.

Note: Excellent postdoctoral fellow can apply the faculty of Lanzhou University, such as associate professor, young researcher and professor. Lanzhou University will provide apartment for position holders to rent, as well as education service to their children, if requested.
