Position Highlights
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The Postdoctoral position in Software Engineering will focus on Microservices Architecture and Cloud-Native Systems, offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated researcher to contribute to cutting-edge studies in the field.
The successful candidate will engage in impactful research activities, developing innovative solutions and methodologies for the evolving landscape of microservices and cloud-native systems. This role involves conducting in-depth research, deriving valuable insights, and contributing to academic advancement in the realm of software engineering. Additionally, the position allows for active involvement in teaching-related activities, providing the opportunity to share knowledge and expertise with students.
This is a year-to-year appointment, contingent upon funding and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Research Excellence: Conduct original research in the field of micro-services architecture and cloud-native systems.
- Develop and publish high-impact studies in reputable academic journals and conferences.
- Innovative Methodologies: Propose and implement innovative methodologies and solutions to address challenges in micro services and cloud-native systems.
- Grant Writing: Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for ongoing and future research endeavors.
- Collaboration and Networking: Participate in Academic conferences, workshops, and seminars to foster networking and collaboration opportunities.
- Teaching Contributions: Engage in teaching-related activities if needed, including teaching courses or mentoring students in their academic and research pursuits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent programming skills and proficiency in relevant technologies.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Must have PhD conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microservice composition and clustering expertise.
- Experience in Microservice System Development.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong research background with a focus on microservices architecture and cloud-native systems.
- Strong research profile with citations, active contribution and publishing.
- Demonstrated experience in publishing research papers in reputable conferences and journals.
- Industrial Experience.
