About the Role

About the Role

This is an opportunity to work as part of the team and project “Accelerating charged particles in space” funded by a Royal Society URF led by Dr Heli Hietala. The postdoc project involves carrying out research to evaluate the particle detector technologies currently developed at QMUL and their suitability for incorporation in space-borne applications, such as CubeSats. The project involves high level of collaboration with both the QMUL Space Plasma Group and the QMUL Detector Development Group.

About You

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in the field of physics or a closely related area. They will have experience of particle detectors and space technologies. They will have the skills and abilities to conduct high-quality innovative research. They will be highly motivated, demonstrate initiative, collaborate successfully towards team goals, and show commitment to research, academic life, and ethical working.
