Position Highlights
The University of Arizona is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate I in the reproductive toxicology laboratory of Dr. Zelieann R. Craig. Female metabolic and reproductive disease are a worldwide concern and exposure to phthalates is thought to contribute to their incidence. This work is aimed at identifying the target tissues and processes related to metabolism and reproduction that are affected by phthalates in females.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and adapt physiological and cellular/molecular experiments (e.g., surgeries, metabolism assays, immunohistochemistry, transcriptomics, proteomics, lipidomics, reproductive and metabolic cell cultures) to meet the needs of the research project which include evaluating gene, protein, and enzymatic activities, systemic metabolic and reproductive endpoints in animals and cell cultures, and generating, analyzing, and interpreting omics data from reproductive and metabolic tissues.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, accurate data acquisition and analysis.
- Co-author grant applications, manuscripts, and intramural and extramural research presentations.
- Coordinate with other investigators on collaborative research projects.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, managing laboratory resources and records (including methodological approaches and animal protocols), and ensuring compliance with university and federal requirements.
- Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, productive scientist with strong experimental and communication skills who is also able to work independently or with a team to tackle challenging research questions and introduce/adapt new techniques to the lab.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant field upon hire AND two years of related research.
- Experience with rodent reproductive and/or metabolic physiology.
- At least one peer-reviewed paper as a first author in this field of research.
