Dr. Bartnikas places strong emphasis on career development, communication skills, grantsmanship, interdisciplinary research, and implications of basic research for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of human disease. Instruction in preparation of research grant applications will be provided with the expectation of grant submissions after one or two years. The candidate is expected to have a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related field. The candidate is expected to be proficient in the design and execution of experiments, analysis and interpretation data, preparation of manuscripts for publication, and mentoring of junior trainees in the laboratory.
