Your next career opportunity
As a Research Fellow in Chemical Engineering at the University of Melbourne, you will spearhead innovative projects to recover proteins, lactose and minerals from whey, converting them into value-added products for the agri-food sector. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the dairy industry and engage with the Dairy Innovation Hub, gaining valuable experience in techno-economic analysis and translating research outcomes into industrial applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Innovative Research: Develop novel membrane-based separation technologies, analyse experimental data, and prepare publications for peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Engage with industry partners, present research findings to stakeholders, and foster collaborative partnerships.
- Mentor and Lead: Supervise honours and postgraduate students and foster a productive research environment.
You may be a great fit if:
You will have a PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with expertise in membrane technology or dairy processing, and possess excellent communication skills to engage with industry collaborators and academic colleagues.
You may also:
- Have direct experience in membrane technology or dairy processing.
- Possess a track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
- Demonstrate the ability to tackle complex problems and develop novel solutions.
- Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be experienced in supervising students or other researchers.
