Postdoctoral Scholar Series
The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings for Postdoctoral Scholars in the following fields: General Neurology, Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Cognitive Neurology, Neuroepidemiology, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuro-Oncology, Neuropsychology, Quantitative Brain Imaging, Pain Management, Sleep, Experimental Therapeutics, Biomarkers and Precision Medicine, and Stroke.
Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty mentor and are expected to contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the University. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding and require a minimum appointment of one year. Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for two years, and renewal is based on availability of support.
The total service as a postdoctoral scholar can not exceed five years. This includes postdoctoral service at other institutions.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent) or be working toward doctoral degree at the time of application. Must have obtained a doctoral degree (or equivalent) by the start of the appointment and have a strong background in Neurology / Neuroscience or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have recently obtained their doctoral degree.
