The Bacterial infection and antimicrobial therapy group (www.torrentslab.eu) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the development of new technologies to treat chronic bacterial infections

Requirements
- Research Field: Biological sciences
- Education Level: PhD or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
- PhD in biology, biotechnology or similar fields, but with essential training and experience in microbiology.
- Previous experience in advanced microscopy for observing bacteria (fluorescence and confocal), anaerobic bacterial culture systems, and analysis of bacterial infections and interactions.
- Expertise in bacterial molecular genetics
- Candidates with extensive experience in bioinformatics, particularly in handling RNA-seq analyses, will be highly regarded.
- Competencies and skills: excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactivity, commitment, and critical and analytical thinking.
- High level of English
Specific Requirements
Be the first author on at least five publications in papers ranked in the top quartile and have undertaken a postdoctoral stay abroad of more than two years

Benefits
- A full time work contract (37,5 hrs/week)
- Gross Salary: 28.800 year
Eligibility criteria
A specific committee will evaluate the applications using the following criteria:
- Suitability of the CV for the job (maximum 30)
- PhD in the specific research field (maximum 10)
- Motivation letter (maximum 20)
- Experience in the research field (maximum 20). E.g.: >3 years (15 points), <3 years (5 points)
- Other criteria based on specific merits (maximum 20)
Selection process
The specific committee will agree upon an award proposal and draw up a prioritized shortlist of candidates who have achieved a minimum of 80 points or declare the call for applications null and void if none of the applicants reach the minimum score.
The award proposal will be published in the UB's electronic office and must include the total scores of the candidates that have received a total of at least 70 points.
