strip tracker for the High Luminosity LHC. A new Emmy Noether group within the ATLAS group will be addressing limitations to the measurement of total Higgs boson decay rates by scrutinizing some of the foundational assumptions underlying these measurements and identifying areas where these assumptions can be reevaluated or relaxed. We are Hiring a postdoc to join the new Emmy Noether group and contribute to these measurements.
About your role:
- Higgs boson width determination using H->ZZ events
- Tests of the stability of the measurement with respect to various assumptions, specifically looking into the effect of several free parameters
- Perform EFT fits to constrain potential BSM effects
- Daily supervision of students working on these topics
- Contributing to the performance studies of ATLAS
About you:
- PhD in experimental particle physics
- Experience in the analysis of big data
- Familiar with EFT frameworks (specifically event generation with EFT models)
- Familiar with statistical analysis tools
- Able to handle combinations of different particle physics measurements
- Excellent English skills
