Postdoctoral Researcher in Lifespan & Environmental Psychology

Postdoctoral Researcher in Lifespan & Environmental Psychology

Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the interdisciplinary project "Regenerative economies, generative practices and well-being in a post-growth transformation (ReGenerate)", funded by the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Luxembourg. The project is jointly led by Prof. Dr. Anna Kornadt (Psychology) and Prof. Dr. Christian Schulz (Geography) and brings together perspectives from lifespan developmental and environmental psychology as well as environmental economic geography.

The position is ideal for an ambitious early-career researcher who seeks to combine methodological excellence with societally relevant research, work in a highly supportive and international environment, and actively shape interdisciplinary theory on sustainable transformations and well-being. The successful candidate will join the Institute for Lifespan Development, Family and Culture within the Department of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences.

Your role

  • Design, implement and analyse a daily diary survey across a broad adult age range
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork, empirical and theoretical integration across psychology and geography
  • Take a leading role in the preparation of high-quality journal publications
  • Disseminate research findings to academic and non-academic stakeholders
  • Actively contribute to the international visibility of the project through conference presentations and networking
  • Contribution to and support of on-going and future research-related activities of the research group

ReGenerate investigates how regenerative economic practices and sustainable attitudes emerge, are maintained and experienced across the adult lifespan, and how they relate to individual, organizational and societal well-being in post-growth contexts. The geographical scope of surveys and case studies will include Luxembourg and its neighbour regions. Using an innovative multi-method design, the project integrates:

  • Daily diary and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) approaches
  • In-depth qualitative and immersive fieldwork conducted by the geography team

A key scientific contribution of the project lies in linking micro-level motivational and well-being processes with meso-level organizational practices and their spatial embeddedness, thereby advancing theory on generativity, sustainable transitions, social connectedness and well-being.

The postdoctoral researcher will take the lead on the quantitative core of the project, in close collaboration with the interdisciplinary project team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own research agenda within the thematic framework of the project and to take a leading role in high-impact publications.

For further information, please contact Prof. Dr. Anna Kornadt.
