Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Nuclear Physics and Applications
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in nuclear physics and its applications, with expertise in radiochemistry applied to the phosphate industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis and Monitoring of Radionuclides and Heavy Metals:
- Develop and implement nuclear analysis methods to characterize phosphate ores and their by-products.
- Monitor and control the migration of radionuclides and heavy metals throughout industrial processes.
- Optimization of Industrial Processes:
- Utilize nuclear techniques to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of industrial processes.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate innovative solutions.
- Development of Advanced Systems and Methodologies:
- Design detection and dosimetry systems tailored to the specific needs of the phosphate industry.
- Innovate analytical methodologies to identify optimization opportunities.
- Training and Awareness:
- Participate in training and raising awareness among industrial teams on radioprotection and nuclear techniques.
- Supervise students and young researchers.
Required Skills
- Nuclear Instrumentation and Advanced Detection Techniques:
- Proficiency in detecting ionizing radiation and using Monte Carlo simulation software (MCNP, GEANT4).
- Knowledge of multi-element analytical techniques (PIXE, XRF, ICP-MS).
- Valorization of Industrial Waste:
- Experience in developing processes for treating and valorizing radioactive industrial waste.
- Cross-Functional Skills:
- Ability to write technical reports and scientific publications.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary academic and industrial teams.
- Project management and team supervision capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Ph.D. in Physics or equivalent, with a specialization in nuclear physics and detection techniques.
- Experience in academic and/or industrial projects related to the phosphate industry or similar fields.
- Strong command of Monte Carlo software and advanced analytical techniques.
- Scientific publications in specialized journals.
