Postdoctoral Researcher in Psychology
2026-03-22 (Europe/Stockholm)
Do you want to contribute to improving human health?
In our research group, we study how digital media (i.e., computer games and social media) affect the mental health of children, adolescents, and young adults. We also have a particular interest in neuropsychiatric disabilities such as ADHD and autism, and how best to support these in schools and healthcare. We collaborate intensively with several different international research groups, as well as with Swedish authorities and various patient organizations.
Your mission
As a postdoctoral researcher in the group, you will support the research group leader in projects studying either the association between digital media and children’s development and health or ADHD in girls. The tasks will include, among other things, literature searches, writing research reports, data collection, data analysis, and data processing. The postdoctoral reseracher is also expected to conduct independent research within the above mentioned research areas and help supervise the research assistants and thesis students who work in the group. The work is mostly carried out on site at the Department of Psychology, Campus Solna, and is a full-time position.
Your profile
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
Having a PhD in psychology or a related field is required for this position. Authorship in international peer-reviewed journals of good quality and the ability to independently conduct quantitative data analyses with SPSS and/or R are requirements. Previous experience in qualitative analysis and research on ADHD, developmental psychology, or digital media is an advantage. We are looking for a person with very good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form, as the research group has a strong international network and a large part of the communication is therefore in English. Good knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. As a person, you are social, independent, take initiative, and are meticulous. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
