The Functional Materials Group at Technische Universität Ilmenau invites highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to apply jointly for the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Research Focus
We are at the forefront of flexible and printed electronics, a rapidly evolving field with transformative potential for the Internet of Things (IoT) and next-generation smart systems.
Our group is developing an innovative platform for fully 3D-printed flexible electronics, combining:
- Advanced 3D printing technologies
- Stretchable and functional materials
Proposed MSCA Project Scope
The selected fellow will contribute to—and shape—the development of:
- Fully 3D-printed flexible electronic devices
- Tailored ink rheology and formulation strategies
- Printing of stretchable sensors, circuits, and actuators
- Integration on textiles and soft elastomeric substrates
Applications include:
- Wearable electronics
- Smart textiles
- Soft robotics
- IoT-enabled sensing systems
The project will emphasize scientific excellence, interdisciplinarity, and real-world impact, aligning with MSCA priorities.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should meet MSCA eligibility criteria and have:
- A PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Strong expertise in:
- Materials formulation and processing
- Characterization of polymers, composites, or functional materials
- Proven scientific track record:
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Conference presentations
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral)
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment
- High motivation and commitment to research excellence
