Postdoctoral Researcher - Projet ChiralSpinLaser - Institut Jean Lamour – CNRS
Offer Description
The position involves developing a new type of spin injector based on chiral organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHP) for spin-optoelectronic applications. Thanks to the chirality-induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect, electrons (or holes) passing through the chiral OIHP layer can generate strongly spin-polarized carriers.
- Manufacture spin-optoelectronic devices incorporating a spin injector based on the OIHP layer.
- Perform transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures to study I-V characteristics.
- Perform preliminary characterizations of electroluminescence.
The Institute Jean Lamour (IJL) is a joint research unit of CNRS and Université de Lorraine.
Focused on materials and processes science and engineering, it covers: materials, metallurgy, plasmas, surfaces, nanomaterials and electronics.
By 2025, IJL has 259 permanent staff (34 researchers, 133 teacher-researchers, 92 IT-BIATSS) and 374 non-permanent staff (136 doctoral students, 48 post-doctoral students / contractual researchers and more than 190 trainees), from some sixty different nationalities.
Partnerships exist with 150 companies and our research groups collaborate with more than 60 countries throughout the world.
Its exceptional instrumental platforms are spread over 4 sites ; the main one is located on Artem campus in Nancy.
The work will be carried out within the Nanomaterials for Optoelectronics team on the ANR-DFG ChiralSpinLaser project. The candidate will work at the IJL laboratory (UMR 7198) on the ARTEM campus in Nancy. Travel within Europe is to be expected.
Team 104 “Nanomaterials for Optoelectronics” (https://NanoOptoSpin.ijlcnrs.fr) of the IJL's Physics of Matter and Materials (P2M) department is developing fundamental and applied research based on its expertise in the field of semiconductor nanomaterials to study optical and magnetic properties through detailed structural, optoelectronic, and magneto-transport characterizations.
The candidate will work full-time as a postdoctoral researcher on the ChiralSpinLaser project, which aims to explore a new type of spin injector based on chiral organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (OIHP).
