Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description
The Close Relationships and Healthy Living Lab, under the direction of Dr. Brett Jakubiak, invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
The recruited fellow will work on an NSF-funded project focused on identifying the unique consequences of physical affection in romantic relationships. The fellow will collaborate with Dr. Jakubiak on supervising a team of observational video coders, analyzing data, and disseminating findings by preparing manuscripts for publication and presenting at conferences.
The fellow will be part of the Syracuse University community, which is welcoming and supportive of all its members.
Qualifications
- PhD in Social Psychology or a related discipline by the start date
- Experience with dyadic data analysis using both multilevel modeling and structural equation modeling approaches
- Comfort analyzing data in R and Mplus
- Expertise related to close relationships and application of relationship-focused theories (e.g., attachment theory, affection exchange theory)
- Experience with observational video coding, including supervising coding teams and developing coding manuals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with implicit measures and/or longitudinal dyadic data analysis (e.g., ecological momentary assessments)

- Mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
