Pay Range: $62,400 - $68,000

Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable.

Job Description:

The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational-Wave group is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position for research on technology for current and future gravitational-wave detectors. The successful candidate will work on designing and building and testing quantum noise reduction schemes for future gravitational wave detectors. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: optics, electronics, quantum optics, interferometer control and simulation. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a related field. The position involves both research and advising graduate students in the group. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal. Qualifications:

• PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

Job Specific Qualifications:

• Experience in optics will be prioritized.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research in the lab and mentor graduate students in the Syracuse University Gravitational-Wave Group.
