Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed-term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher working in the area of technology implementation systems at the Enterprise Research Centre, School of Engineering, University of Galway, Ireland.
This position is funded through the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, co-funded by the European Union, and is available from 1st November 2026 to the contract end date of 31st May 2028.
ACTIV-N is a transnational research and innovation project focused on the responsible, inclusive and human-centred adoption and implementation of digital resilience technologies across diverse organisational and regional contexts. The University of Galway team contributes to analysing user needs, digital readiness, and organisational capacities; co-designing technology migration roadmaps; supporting iterative implementation with end-user participation; and evaluating user experience, adoption, and policy integration outcomes, including the development of transferable resources such as a migration playbook, a digital implementation toolkit, and adoption dashboards. The successful candidate will take day-to-day responsibility, under the strategic oversight of the Principal Investigator, for the empirical research and evaluation underpinning these activities. In addition, the researcher will contribute to the Enterprise Research Centre's broader research activities, including collaborative research, scientific publications, and, where appropriate, the development of future research initiatives.
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €47,273 - €60,250 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
The default position for all new public sector appointments is the 1st point of the salary scale. This may be reviewed, and consideration afforded to appointment at a higher point on the payscale (subject to the project’s funding limitations), where evidence of prior years’ equivalent experience is accepted in determining placement on the scale above point 1, subject to the maximum of the scale.
