Offer Description
We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team conducting research projects in translational oncology. Our research combines advanced molecular biology, immunology, and histopathology methods with the analysis of clinical samples and human cell-based models. The project will focus on BIA-ALCL and will be conducted in collaboration with an international research consortium.
We are looking for a researcher who is strongly motivated to pursue scientific research and further develop their academic career. The successful candidate should be independent, proactive, and ready to take responsibility for their research activities. Skills/Qualifications
Education and Scientific Experience
- PhD in biotechnology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, immunology, or a related discipline. Candidates who have not yet formally obtained their PhD may also apply, provided that their PhD defence is scheduled within the next three months.
- Documented experience in experimental and laboratory research in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, oncology, or a related field.
- Experience in research involving clinical samples and validation models, particularly in the context of biomaterials and implant-associated materials, would be an advantage.
- Documented scientific track record, including publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and/or active participation in scientific conferences.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in molecular, cellular, and immunological techniques, with experience in independently planning, conducting, optimising, and documenting experiments.
- Experience working with human clinical material, particularly fresh and FFPE tissues, blood, and isolated cell populations.
- Hands-on experience in immunological and molecular profiling using methods such as FC, IHC, IF, WB, and ELISA.
- Experience in developing, optimising, and validating antibody panels and methods for biomarker identification and characterisation.
- Experience with mIF, digital pathology, and quantitative and spatial image analysis will be an additional asset.
- Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and other high-throughput approaches for profiling clinical samples will be an advantage.
- Ability to integrate, critically analyse, and biologically interpret data generated across different experimental platforms, as well as to formulate and test research hypotheses.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot experimental workflows, optimise methods, and assess the quality and reliability of experimental results.
- Experience collaborating with clinical, pathology, bioinformatics, and analytical teams will be an additional asset.
- Very good command of English, enabling effective scientific communication, manuscript preparation, and presentation and discussion of research findings in an international environment.

Daily tasks
- Plan, conduct, document, and report experiments in the field of translational oncology and immunobiology.
- Conduct laboratory research using human biological and clinical material, including tissues, cells, blood, and FFPE samples.
- Perform research aimed at the identification and molecular validation of biomarkers and the development and validation of novel diagnostic tools.
- Apply and optimise molecular, cellular, immunological, and histopathological methods on analisys.
- Apply digital pathology tools, including digitisation of histopathological slides and quantitative image analysis.
- Participate in the analysis, critical evaluation, and interpretation of molecular, histopathological, and spatial data, in collaboration with data analysis specialists.
- Develop, optimise, and document research protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring the quality, reproducibility, and reliability of experimental results.
- Actively contribute to scientific publications, present research findings at national and international conferences, and build an independent scientific track record.
- Collaborate with clinical, pathology, experimental, and analytical teams within national and international research projects.
