Postdoctoral Scholarship in Physics

Position

• You will actively work towards the preparation and defence of a PhD thesis in experimental particle physics.
• You will join an inter-university research team working on the measurement of the Higgs–charm Yukawa coupling with the CMS experiment at CERN.
• You will work closely with your supervisor, postdoctoral researchers and other PhD students at UAntwerp.
• As a member of the CMS Collaboration, you will contribute to CMS Experiment Physics Responsibilities (EPR).
• The position is based in Antwerp.
• You will also contribute to the general educational tasks of the Physics Department.

Profile

• You hold a master degree in Physics or Applied Sciences or you will have obtained it by the time of appointment.
• You can provide evidence of excellent study results.
• You have a good knowledge of English, both oral and written.

What We Offer

• We offer a doctoral scholarship for a period of two years. Following a positive evaluation, the scholarship can be renewed for another two years.
• The planned start date is 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible after that date.
