Postdoctoral Scientist

The goal of the Systems Oncology Group is to understand how the tumour microenvironment, and the desmoplastic reaction in particular, regulate tumour cell signalling and therapeutic response in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The objective of this post is to learn, optimise and apply novel cutting-edge sample processing methodologies for cell specific phosphoproteomics analysis of metastatic pancreatic cancer. Specifically, you will work across the White lab (MIT, MA, USA) and Jorgensen lab (CRUK MI, UK) to learn the methodology (White lab) and apply it to PDAC 3D and in vivo samples (Jorgensen lab). The post holder is expected to interact collaboratively with members of the laboratories and contribute to the design and development of on-going research projects in support of the Systems Oncology group.

About you:

You should have a PhD in biochemistry, cancer biology or a related field. Prior experience in protein biochemistry and analysis of cell signalling is essential and prior experience with (phospho)proteomics and in vivo models of cancer is beneficial. Key qualities include independent thinking, ability to work in a team and good communication skills, all of which are needed to efficiently work in a multidisciplinary team. Given the collaborative nature of the project, you are expected to spend time in both laboratories.
