You will play a central role in supporting the postgraduate student journey, from admissions through to course completion, acting as a key point of contact for students, supervisors, and academic colleagues.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment. You will have:
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Previous administrative experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing competing priorities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A professional and discreet approach when handling sensitive information
- An interest in higher education, student support, or academic administration
Reporting to the Postgraduate Administrator, you will join a collaborative Professional Services team working across HR, Finance and Grants, Communications, and Facilities. You will build strong working relationships with colleagues throughout the Department and the wider University, including the Postgraduate Admissions Office, helping to deliver a responsive, efficient, and student-focused postgraduate education service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor and maintain Department input to the student management system - CamSIS.
- Performing administration of applications and admissions procedure for courses, including processing applications and organising interviews.
- Process student stipends via the University Student Payment system and setting up studentships.
- Organise and provide administrative support for postgraduate events, including course recruitment activities, Postgraduate Open Days, welcome events and departmental student seminar series.

This role is part-time at 0.6 FTE (21.9 hours per week) and offered on a 3-year fixed-term contract in the first instance, with flexibility around working patterns.
The Postgraduate office operates a hybrid working model, with a minimum office presence of two days per week and additional flexibility by arrangement.
