Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington and Te Whānau o Ako Pai - School of Education are currently recruiting a Practice Adviser in Educational Psychology to cover one of our staff on parental leave. The role requires relevant knowledge of the practice of Educational Psychology in Aotearoa New Zealand and contributes to the coordination and teaching of the Postgraduate Diploma of Educational Psychology Practice (PGDipEPP) programme.
This is a fixed-term, part-time role at 20 hours a week, until 4 March 2027. The preferred start date is 5 January 2026.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
The successful candidate will hold a current practicing certificate as a registered educational psychologist in New Zealand and have considerable experience as a psychologist working in education. Applicants must have a commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi and to implementing culturally responsive practices.
You will be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who will build and maintain relationships with educational psychologists, the Ministry of Education, and community providers of internship placements. The ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive working with a diverse range of stakeholders is a must.
