Job Summary/Basic Function:
A Program Supervisor at Wheaton College is the primary liaison between the college and the school/classroom in which the teacher candidates are placed during their Student Teaching Practicum. Because the Program Supervisor’s primary focus is on the teacher candidates and their successful completion of the practicum, the Program Supervisor plays a key role in guiding the candidates’ development as professional educators and supporting the Supervising Practitioners’ mentorship of the candidates in local schools throughout the placement.This supervisory work includes: observing each candidate 3-4 times during the semester (during school hours), conducting pre- and post-observation meetings, providing actionable feedback, completing and managing state mandated documentation, and meeting with their cohort of teacher candidates (4 students) weekly (in-person or virtually).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in education
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in public schools in elementary and/or early childhood grades
