Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified candidates for this position will have at least 10 years of professional practice in information systems with cybersecurity as their field of expertise.
- Qualified candidates must hold at least a Master's degree in Information Systems or related specialization with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the area of instruction.
Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required)
- Qualified candidates should possess professional competence and experience that will benefit the CIS and Cybersecurity program in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University.
- Qualified candidates should have demonstrated ability to perform teaching duties associated with the position.
- Qualified candidates should possess expertise/knowledge in multiple areas of cybersecurity and information systems including: networking, scripting and programming, network defense, governance, risk management, compliance, cryptography, assurance, vulnerability analysis, and/or forensics.
- Additionally, expertise/knowledge in the areas of database, systems analysis and design, and business analytics is desirable.
License/Certification Required
For courses leading to certification, faculty must either hold a current version of the certification or make a good faith effort to obtain the certification in a timely manner.

The Department of Computer Information Systems is housed in the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. The Walker College of Business is committed to ensuring that its graduates are equipped to succeed in a comprehensive and wide-ranging environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Details about department programs and faculty/staff can be found here. Individuals holding full-time non-tenure track positions are expected to teach the equivalent of 12 credit hours per academic semester and provide service to the institution.

Suggested Salary Range: $63,000-$67,000
