"Pre-Clinical/Clinical Faculty, Periodontics (Evergreen position)"

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Responsible for providing didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical periodontal content and will supervise pre-clinical and clinical student learning experiences in the discipline. Pacific faculty engage in teaching, scholarship and service. Responsibilities include any of the following:

• Teaching Curriculum
• Didactic instruction involving periodontal pre-clinical content.
• Provide simulation exercises to support the pre-clinical courses.
• Participate in outcomes assessment, including student and peer evaluation, to improve curricular content and presentation.
• Participate in mandatory faculty calibration and development in pre-clinical area.
• Patient Care
• Supervise students providing clinical care of patients including periodontal surgery.
• Participate in mandatory faculty calibration and development in clinical areas.
• Collaboration and Service
• Engage broadly in other school, university, professional, and community service opportunities.
• In addition to the traditional expectations for faculty members, the culture of humanism and collaboration is especially important.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of:
• Requirements for a comprehensive periodontal examination.
• Universal and area-specific instrumentation.
• Pre-clinical and clinical teaching methodology.
• Education:
• DDS/DMD or international equivalent, completion of training from an accredited dental school program.
• Certificate of proficiency in periodontics.
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Active license to practice dentistry.
• Valid CPR certification.

• Experience:
• Previous teaching or practice experience is preferred.
• Minimum of one year practice experience preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
• Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
