President, Eastern Maine Community College

The Board of Trustees of the Maine Community College System invites applications and nominations for the position of President of Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) located in Bangor, Maine. EMCC serves over 2,000 technical, career, and transfer students annually at the Bangor campus and the Katahdin Higher Education Center in East Millinocket, and provides non-credit and short-term workforce training to an additional 1,500 students. EMCC is fully accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education and is part of Maine's seven-member community college system.

The President will enhance student success, deliver high-quality education and training, lead during changing demographics, and expand the college's role in economic and workforce development. Responsibilities include institutional leadership, long-term planning, and fostering a learning environment. Candidates must demonstrate understanding of experiential education, strategic planning, communication, team building, participatory management, shared governance, and the community college environment. They must be innovative leaders with experience in transparent communication, economic development, and fiscal and facilities management. A master's degree is required; a doctoral degree is preferred.
