President
The University of North Florida (UNF), a nationally ranked public research university in the State University System of Florida with a strong commitment to regional economic development and student career readiness, invites nominations and applications for the position of President.
Since welcoming its first class in 1972, UNF has rapidly evolved into a 17,600-student research university. Situated on a designated nature preserve in Jacksonville, the University sits between a dynamic downtown and the Atlantic coast beaches. The University is both a Carnegie R2 university and an Elective Community Engagement institution. UNF’s impact continues to expand, with the University in the midst of an ambitious strategic plan to grow the student body to 25,000 and gain recognition as a Top 100 public university.
Reporting to the UNF Board of Trustees and working closely with the Florida Board of Governors, the President serves as the chief executive officer of the University, responsible for setting a bold vision, stewarding its resources, building strong community and legislative relationships, and furthering UNF’s trajectory as a national university. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring and collaborative leader with a demonstrated ability to navigate the complexities of higher education with strategic insight, political savvy, and a strong commitment to public service, research, and academic excellence.
