The College now seeks to appoint its next President, who will take office in October 2027. As Head of House, the President will provide strategic, academic and community leadership, working closely with Fellows, students and staff to shape the future direction of the College. Chairing the Governing Body and Council, the President will guide decision-making, champion academic excellence and foster an environment in which learning, research and intellectual exchange can thrive. The role also carries significant responsibility for external representation, fundraising and development, building strong relationships with alumnae, donors, partners and the wider University community to secure the College’s long-term success.

The successful candidate will bring a distinguished record of achievement and leadership, whether in academia, public life or another professional field, together with strong intellectual credibility and an affinity with higher education. An inclusive and collaborative leader, they will have experience of governance, consensus-building and representing organisations at the highest levels. They will combine strategic vision with sound judgement, possess the ability to inspire confidence across a diverse community, and demonstrate a strong commitment to gender equality, fundraising and the advancement of women’s education. Empathy, integrity, diplomatic skill and the capacity to act as an outstanding ambassador for the College will be essential.
