About the role
We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Public Communication to join the team on a part-time basis for 12 months.
In this role, you will make a significant contribution to the implementation of research projects and applications for research funding with a focus on formative, process, and summative evaluation of public communication by governments, institutions, non-government organisations, and corporations including their campaigns and their stakeholder and citizen engagement.
This is an opportunity to work directly with one of the world’s leaders in evaluation of public communication projects, programs, and campaigns and a recognized pioneer in research related to organizational listening, which has been identified as essential to build and maintain trust, reputation, and relationships between organizations and their stakeholders including employees, customers, members, and citizens generally.
The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo and will report to Distinguished Professor Jim Macnamara.
About You
As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will play a crucial role in supporting current research in the field. You will evoke passion and energy to work at the cutting edge of evaluation of public communication, with experience in data analysis of both quantitative and qualitative research data.
Successful applicants should also have:
• PhD in a public communication-related field such as corporate, government, organizational or strategic communication, media studies, public relations, etc.
• Knowledge of public communication practices such as advertising, public relations, government communication, corporate communication, and/or organizational communication including stakeholder consultation and engagement
• Knowledge of evaluation theory and models such as theory of change, the logical framework approach (LFA), program logic models, the design of key performance indicators (KPIs), and identification and collection of metrics and indicators
• Experience in using research applications such as NVivo, SPSS, Qualtrics, etc
• Experience in producing research reports including figures, tables, charts, and graphs
• Some experience in writing research funding applications and/or research proposals is desirable

Remuneration/Salary
Base Salary Range: $119,475 to $141,405 pa (Level B) (pro-rata)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is part-time (0.6FTE, 3 days per week) and the appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
