Description

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Fordham University invites applications for the position of full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in linguistic anthropology. We seek a scholar whose research focuses on language and race, gender, and/or sexuality, and who has demonstrated ability to teach courses on some of these subjects, including an introductory course in linguistic anthropology. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in the regions of the Middle East or Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level and an active program of research and publication are required. So is the ability to contribute to the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will be located primarily at Fordham College’s Rose Hill campus (in the Bronx) with the possibility of future service and teaching at the Lincoln Center campus (in Manhattan).
