Job Description

Under the direction of the Program Director, Principal Faculty will actively participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the programs competencies, mission statement, goals, and curriculum, including selecting applicants for admission to the Program; participate in evaluating the Program for effectiveness; aid the program in meeting accreditation compliance requirements; develop course schedules, syllabi, and student evaluation mechanisms: perform other program duties as appointed. If deemed appropriate, this position may be given a stipend for the role of Director of Assessment. The Director of Assessment supports the faculty, staff, and segments of the School of Medical Sciences in the continuous program assessment, evaluation, and compliance improvement process. The Director of Assessment will assist in the continuous review and analysis of the programs effectiveness and preparation for program assessment by ARC-PA, LMU, SACSCOC, and others.

Required Qualifications

Masters degree with two years experience in program evaluation, assessment, and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in a field related to medical science or education; experience in ARC-PA accreditation standards

Job Duties

  • Promote a positive learning environment for all students
  • Provide student instruction in a variety of formats for Didactic Phase Courses
  • Assess student performance in the Didactic Phase
  • Provide remedial instruction for students identified to be at risk or requiring remediation in the Didactic Phase
  • Assess student performance in the Clinical Phase Cumulative Assessment and student readiness to progress to the Summative Evaluation
  • Assess student performance in the Summative Evaluation and student readiness to progress to graduation
  • Design and revise course syllabi
  • Provide guidance to Block Leaders, Principal Faculty and Instructional Faculty on the following: Course outcomes and instructional objectives, Depth and breadth of content to be covered, Format of instructional delivery, format of assessment of student performance
  • Complete End-of-Course reports for assigned Didactic Phase courses and present conclusion based on data analysis and recommendations for action(s)/modifications to the Curriculum Committee
  • Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Didactic Phase Cumulative Assessment and the Summative Evaluation
  • Assist in the review/revision of the Student Handbook and the Student Catalog as assigned
  • Participate in the program s continuous selfassessment process as directed
  • Assist the Program Director in preparing documentation for the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the Physician s Assistant, Inc.(ARC_PA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges(SACSCOC) as requested within the SMS
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and instructional administrative offices as directed by the ADAA
  • Participate in all aspects of accreditation maintenance as needed
  • Participate in the programmatic and LMU institutional committees as assigned
  • Participate in the development, review, and revision of the Program s mission statement, goals, learning outcomes, and graduate competencies
  • Participate in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the curriculum
  • Participate in program organization, management, evaluation, and planning
  • Participate in the selection of student applicants for admission to the Program
  • Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students, and members of the community
  • perform other duties as assigned by the PA Program Director.
