Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Principal Gifts (PG) team seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to manage a range of communications and engagement processes to enhance University Development’s interactions with principal gift prospects and donors.
This position coordinates Chancellor development logistics and communications for OneCarolina, including donor meeting briefings, event briefings, and thank you notes, on behalf of the Chancellor. This includes initiating and managing briefing and thank you note timelines, drafting and editing needed materials, and creating Chancellor interactions in Davie.
Together with the PG Director of Development, this position will manage Principal Gift engagement work processes. This may include the developing invitation lists, attendance and event logistics, preparation of materials, and event follow up.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The successful candidate must have strong process management skills, analytical ability, and a commitment to advancing the university’s philanthropic goals.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose and edit materials in alignment with organizational style and to convey information clearly and effectively. Excellent organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proven record of managing projects and initiatives, particularly communications processes and donor engagement efforts. Proficiency in database management and data analysis tools. Experience with fundraising software, including DAVIE or similar platforms. Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to take initiative and work independently. Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with individuals with a broad range of personal styles.

Higher education/philanthropy experience.
