Principal Investigator – Cancer Biology
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at the University Health Network (UHN) is seeking an outstanding early-career faculty Scientist (full time Assistant Professor level) to establish an independent world-class research program in Cancer Biology. Successful candidate must have a PhD and/or MD or equivalent designation; extensive experience in one or more functional and cancer biology fields; exceptional track record evidenced by high impact discoveries (publications and/or intellectual properties or patents); dissemination of research at formal scientific meetings, and participation in the education and supervision of students and trainees. Applications across the spectrum of cancer biology are encouraged, with emphasis on functional and mechanistic research towards development of future therapies. Examples include but are not limited to aging, inflammation, cellular stress, functional genomics, structural biology, and chemical biology. Use of novel research platforms and technologies will be prioritized, complementing institutional expertise and resources in genomics, proteomics, computational and structural biology, immunology and high-throughput biology, supported by cutting-edge research core facilities.
Successful candidate will be supported by a generous start‐up package, independent modern laboratory space and extensive institutional expertise and resources in genomics, proteomics, computational and structural biology, cutting-edge high-throughput and research core facilities, full salary and assistance in obtaining cross-appointments to the University of Toronto. PM appointment is expected at the rank of Scientist, on a career path to Senior Scientist over a six-year period (tenure-track-equivalent). funded research program of international caliber and will be supported by a generous start‐up package complemented by independent modern laboratory space.
