Location
Kaunas, Lithuania – SustAInLivWork CoE, (Artificial Intelligence (AI) Excellence Centre coordinated by Kaunas University of Technology). The position will be based at and employed by the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU), with the possibility of partial remote work.

The CoE AI Research HUB Leader.
Type of Contract
Project-based contract until 31 August 2029.
Remuneration package
Salary is based upon Applicant experience and qualifications, as well as market and institutional regulations.
28,03 – 37,73 Eur per hour (bruto*).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide scientific leadership in AI for healthy living, digital health, and wellbeing system;
- Initiate and lead research, experimental development, and innovation (R&D/I) projects, including industry-driven projects, Horizon Europe, and other national/international programmes;
- Develop and apply advanced AI solutions within the One Health framework, integrating non-invasive monitoring, predictive analytics, early diagnosis, and personalized interventions across human, animal, and environmental health systems;
- Lead interdisciplinary collaboration between AI experts, healthcare professionals, biomedical researchers, and domain specialists;
- Establish and strengthen collaborations with healthcare institutions, industry partners, public health organizations, and international research centres;
- Ensure high-quality scientific output, including Q1 publications, datasets, open-source tools, prototypes, and demonstrators;
- Supervise PhD students and mentor early-stage researchers;
- Contribute to proposal preparation and coordination of international research consortia.

Skills/Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., medicine, health sciences, or related disciplines);
- Qualification level equivalent to Senior Researcher / Principal Investigator;
- Proven scientific track record, including at least three peer-reviewed publications (preferably in Q1/Q2 journals) in AI for healthcare, digital health, biomedical data analysis, medical imaging, or related domains;
- At least 3 years of managing experience in international R&D/I projects related to AI in healthcare, wellbeing technologies, multi-modal data analysis, or assistive technology;
- Experience in applying AI methods such as machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, multimodal data analysis and large language models (LLM) in health-related or similar contexts;
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in supervising R&D/I research projects or teams in AI, big data, healthcare, or related domains;
- Strong understanding of real-world healthcare systems, including medical and multimodal data (e.g., clinical, imaging, sensor, and wearable data);
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills;
- Experience in collaboration with healthcare providers, industry, or public sector stakeholders is considered an advantage;
- Language proficiency: Lithuanian (C1) and English (C1).
