About This Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a Principal Research Partnerships Coordinator and play a pivotal role in advancing the research development and partnership management activities of the Herston Biofabrication Institute (HBI), a joint initiative between The University of Queensland and Metro North Health.

Working closely with the Research Director, you will support the translation of visionary research into real-world impact by enabling strong collaborations between researchers, clinicians, industry and government partners. You will join a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment where curiosity, purpose and partnership drive meaningful change for health outcomes in Queensland and beyond.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic advice to researchers and clinicians on current and emerging research funding opportunities, including eligibility, compliance and submission processes.
  • Supporting the development of high-quality grant and fellowship applications through expert coordination, review and writing support.
  • Managing and coordinating research contracts and partnership agreements from negotiation through to execution.
  • Preparing reports, briefing papers, metrics and meeting materials to support informed decision-making and research performance tracking.

About You

You will bring a proactive, organised and partnership-focused approach, with the ability to navigate complex research environments and communicate with confidence across disciplines.

  • Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training.
  • Demonstrated experience in research development, research partnerships, or project coordination within a higher education or health research context.
  • Knowledge of the Australian research funding landscape, including major funding bodies and grant processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling narratives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain timelines and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience coordinating meetings, consultations and collaborative activities.
  • A collaborative, inclusive mindset, with the capacity to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
