Description of the Workplace

The Department of Physics at Lund University runs the world-class Lund Nano Lab (LNL), a semiconductor nanofabrication facility and part of Myfab – the national infrastructure for micro- and nano-fabrication. LNL is a key infrastructure for Nanolund, the Center for Nanoscience at Lund University, renowned for materials science and nanostructured semiconductor applications.

  • Annual turnover: ~45 MSEK
  • Laboratory area: ~1200 m², including 600 m² of semiconductor cleanroom
  • Tools: ~80 tools for deposition, growth, etch, patterning, and specialized characterization instruments
  • Users: ~140 active users from academia and industry
  • Staff: 11 scientists, engineers, and technicians, including Ph.Ds, focused on equipment availability, user support, and lab operations

Role Overview:
Lund Nano Lab seeks one or two Process Engineers with emphasis on lithography and general fabrication. Responsibilities include process, equipment, and material improvement projects, in collaboration with other engineers and OEMs. The role involves interfacing with students, scientists, and engineers to provide training and support on select processes and equipment.

A new cleanroom at Science Village in Lund is planned, doubling current capacity—making this an exciting time to join LNL.
