Position Summary
The SUNY Cortland History Department is accepting applications for a two-year (12-month) postdoctoral fellowship beginning in Fall 2027. This position is offered as part of the Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) postdoctoral Program. PRODiG+ is designed with two primary goals: (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of those faculty. Throughout the fellowship, the successful candidate will receive mentoring on how to thrive as a faculty member at a comprehensive college, balancing the demands of teaching and research. The fellowship is expected to transition into a tenure-track position after two years, provided the fellow achieves performance milestones during the fellowship.
The successful candidate will become a part of our dynamic and expanding History Department supporting nearly 200 students in one of our two undergraduate majors in history and our innovative dual major degree in History/Adolescence Education in Social Studies, and more than 60 graduate students in our thriving on-line M.A. in history program and our new M.S.T. Adolescent Education in Social Studies program.
