SUMMARY

The Department of Criminal Justice at SUNY Brockport invites applications for a two-year Postdoctoral Fellow through SUNY's Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+) program. The PRODiG+ Fellowship is designed with two primary goals: (1) increase the number and share of excellent and diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthen the pathway for retention and support of these candidates.

The PRODiG+ Fellowship is a two-year temporary appointment with a reduced teaching load designed to support the Fellow in developing their teaching and scholarly portfolios. During the two-year fellowship, the Fellow will teach a range of criminal justice courses, with a teaching load of two courses per semester. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Fellow will have opportunities to contribute to departmental committees and advise students. The Fellow will engage in scholarly research and is encouraged to pursue external funding through grant applications. Throughout the Fellowship, the Fellow will receive support from a senior faculty mentor, professional development funding, and valuable new faculty orientation and onboarding resources. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship, the Fellow may be eligible for appointment to a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Criminal Justice through an internal promotion process. More information about the fellowship is available at https://www.suny.edu/prodig-plus/fellowship/.

This appointment will begin in Fall 2027.
