Here's what you need to know about the role:
- You'll be joining the Student Engagement and Campus Life team, a department centered on uplifting the student experience by cultivating affirming environments, promoting holistic well-being, and providing exceptional services, programs, and facilities.
- You'll be reporting to the Assistant Director for Production Services, in a Regular, twelve-month, 100% staff appointment.
- The Production Manager will work to ensure success by collaborating with clients and student employees to meet the technical requirements and customer service needs associated with events that require Production Services. The position will be responsible for ensuring all technical and design aspects of events are implemented and contracted in a safe, professional, and timely manner. Ensures that specified equipment is utilized to perform services as contracted, confirms safety policies and protocols are adhered to at all times, and events are properly staffed based on technical skills and knowledge. Creates sketches and plots, equipment schedules, connection diagrams, and show orders to communicate specific event needs to our student employees. Performs simple electrical load calculations. Provides support for all venues as assigned to Production Services. Serves as the hiring and employment manager for all student technicians, leads, and administrative positions. Manages student staff scheduling, training, development, and other duties as needed regarding student supervision.

Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Technical Theatre or related field, or equivalent level related training/experience.
- Working knowledge of both analog and digital audio, lighting, and video systems.
- Basic technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- General knowledge of rigging practices and systems associated with theatrical venues and production tour rigging.
- Previous experience coordinating the proper layout and use of sound, lighting, and video system components.
- Previous experience supervising and directing the work of others.
- Demonstrated collaboration and engagement with individuals from assorted backgrounds and multicultural communities, within and across organizational boundaries.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, having to adjust priorities to successfully meet production deadlines regularly.
- Strong background in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous professional experience in Production Support and Technical Theatre.
- Basic experience with QLab programming and operation.
- Previous experience working in a university or academic setting.
- Basic knowledge of Vector Works, AutoCAD, or similar drafting, drawing, and design software in a professional setting.
- Basic experience with Extron, Crestron, Q-Sys, or similar programs.

Additional Information
The selected candidate must have a background check and a driver's license check showing a safe driving record. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with nights and weekends as needed.
