The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Hydrogeology or Hydrology. We seek a bilingual scientist (French/English) with exceptional research experience in innovative areas of hydrogeology and/or hydrology, possibly focused on northern Canada, climate change impacts, resource development, or carbon mitigation strategies. Candidates should have varied skills in hydrogeology, including modeling, remote sensing, and/or machine learning, and indicate potential use of existing analytical infrastructure.
Duties: Teaching hydrogeology (in French) and hydrology (in French and English); Supervising BSc, MSc, and PhD students; Developing an externally funded research program; Establishing links with industry and government; Engaging in departmental and faculty activities.
Terms: Tenure-track position.
Salary: Base salary of $99,377 (effective May 1, 2025).

Requirements: PhD in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Environmental Sciences; Postdoctoral experience and excellent teaching skills are assets; Active knowledge of French at hiring, with ability to work and teach in both official languages by tenure.
