Professional Expert II : Career Education Specialist
Job Description
This position is a part-time hourly position that is grant funded annually from July - June. The position works no more than 38.5 weeks a year and no more than 26 hours a week. Preferably from 8:00am - 3:00pm or 10:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday.
Under the supervision of the Career Education Director or designee, the Career Education Specialist serves as a primary liaison among students, faculty, industry partners, and community organizations to increase awareness and engagement in Fullerton College’s Career Education programs.
The specialist works collaboratively with Career Education team to perform specific project tasks resulting in identified program outcomes.
Duties
- Provide front-counter customer service and support to students, faculty, staff, and community members in person, by phone, and through email communications.
- Respond to inquiries, provide program information, and refer students to appropriate campus resources and services.
- Conduct student outreach and follow-up communications to support participation, engagement, and completion of program requirements.
- Monitor, track, and maintain student records, program participation data, and related documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Process forms, applications, documents, and workflows while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Maintain program files, records, databases, and communication logs; assist with preparing reports and compiling data as requested.
- Assist with coordinating workshops, meetings, events, and other program activities, including scheduling, communications, and logistical support.
- Create and distribute program materials, including flyers, brochures, presentations, social media content, and other outreach and marketing communications.
- Utilize technology platforms and software applications, including Microsoft Office, Canva, Instagram, Canvas, Calendly, Remind, and other tools to support program operations and communications.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, community partners, and the public.
- Participate in outreach activities, informational events, and recruitment efforts to promote programs and services.
- Support an inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered environment that promotes student success and equitable access to resources and opportunities.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
