Salary: Hourly wage

Qualifications

Master's degree in Voice Performance or a related music field required; Doctorate (or ABD) preferred

Demonstrated success in teaching voice at the collegiate level

Strong performance experience

Commitment to fostering success in a student population with many first-generation college students

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play an active and visible role in the artistic and educational life of the Indiana State University School of Music. Responsibilities include:

Teaching applied voice lessons to a diverse population of undergraduate music majors, minors, and non-majors, and evaluating final juries
Good knowledge of vocal pedagogy for teaching undergraduate vocal pedagogy class primarily comprised of music education majors
Ability to teach various vocal styles: classical, musical theater, jazz and CCM
Participation in key performing events such as Faculty Gala, Contemporary Music Festival, Music Career Day and Christmas Concert
Moderate piano skills will be helpful in this position because live accompaniment is not provided during lessons until the final weeks of the semester.
