Brief Job Overview/Summary

This position is a grant-funded, part-time position that will conclude on September 29, 2026. Continuation of the role beyond this date is contingent upon the renewal of grant funding. This position will focus on building Stockton's Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) through program development and research, 1:1 and group support services, and collaborations with campus partners and community organizations to build a strong community of connection and belonging. The CRP Program Coordinator is an essential member of the Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) multi-disciplinary mental health service offering preventive education, clinical assessment/evaluation, training and consultation, intervention, recovery support, case management and referral, and collaboration with other professionals and campus constituents to address substance use related concerns with the Stockton University student population. The CRP Coordinator will assist individuals with substance use disorder by serving as a role model, advocate, and motivator. Through lived experience and training, the CRP Coordinator will provide non-clinical individual and group support to develop a robust recovery community within Stockton University. After-hours and weekend responsibilities may be required. This position is part of a supportive recovery network that promotes abstinence, support, and fellowship. This position will report directly to the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Addictions Counselor Supervisor with addiction and recovery awareness workshops, groups, and events
  • Support the Collegiate Recovery Program & community through community-building and events
  • Offer sober activities on campus that promote health and wellness
  • Promote advocacy efforts to end the stigma of recovery and addiction on campus
  • Document all activities and provide information for the department's End of Year Report and other reports and research as needed
  • Educate students and promote Wellness Center services, Recovery Housing services, and Collegiate Recovery Community events, and provide resources where needed
  • Attend weekly Team meetings
  • Utilize professional and ethical standards and conduct in all activities
  • Serve as a resource for emerging trends and effective strategies in college recovery, improving student outcomes to the list of responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, Assistant Vice President for Student Health and Wellness, and/or Vice President for Student Affairs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience creating programming and trainings around substance use and recovery
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, written, and oral
  • Effective organizational and administrative skills
  • Supportive and effective leadership skills
  • Timeliness and attention to detail in work functions
  • Have a working knowledge and ability to use social media
  • Create and maintain connections with the local recovery community

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, or other relevant field
  • Two years of experience working in recovery from substance related disorders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Addictions, or a related field
  • State of New Jersey certification or licensure as a Certified Peer Recovery or Peer Support Specialist
  • Demonstrated experience working with college age students
  • Excellent English and Spanish language communication skills, both written, and oral
