The Health Systems Management and Policy Division (HSMP) of the School of Public Health (SPH) invites applications for the Professor and Director, Division of Health Systems Management and Policy. This is a full-time 9-month tenured/tenure track position with anticipated start date of Spring 2026.
As an integral member of the SPH administrative leadership team, the Director will be responsible for leading the Division’s efforts in teaching, research, and service, while maintaining continued excellence for the Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Management Education (CAHME) accredited Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree program and the Certificate in Healthcare Leadership program. The MHA degree is offered via an on-campus, cohort model, residential track or an executive track that is entirely on-line.
Duties and Responsibilities include administrative functions for the Division of HSMP under the direction of the Dean SPH. These duties may include, but are not limited to: teaching courses within the HSMP Division and SPH, mentoring faculty and graduate students, serving on committees to further develop, support, and enhance the HSMP Division and the SPH, represent the Division, SPH and the University administration locally and nationally to enhance professional training and research opportunities and perform special assignments as delegated by the Dean, Provost, or President of the University
Position Qualifications: Candidates for the position of Director, Division of HSMP must hold a relevant doctoral degree (PhD, DHA, DSc, DrPH) and meet academic requirements for consideration as a Professor and hold full-time faculty status at the time of appointment. A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience is required of a candidate for Director. Candidates should also have: (1) an established record of teaching, publication, and extramural funding in public health, health services management or health policy research, (2) possess leadership skills and experience to further develop the goals and responsibilities of the Program and (3) have academic leadership experience and familiarity with CAHME accredited MHA programs. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated program and partnership building and recruitment experience as well as teaching experience in health policy, economics, finance, population health management, health informatics, general administration, and health services research methodology
