In addition to a demonstrated research record commensurate with rank, or a highly promising research trajectory for emerging candidates with a recent PhD, applicants should show competence in working with globally diverse communities, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring, and dedication to institutional service and shared governance. Candidates are expected to contribute to both undergraduate and future graduate education and program development. Teaching expectations include two courses per semester, primarily within NU-Q’s First-Year Writing seminar, but with the possibility of electives courses elective courses that speak to their research field, as well as contribution to NU-Q’s broader curricular needs. This could include courses qualifying for our university’s growing number of interdisciplinary minors, such as AI and Media Studies, Media and Politics, Strategic Communication, Film and Design, Middle East Studies, and Africana Studies. There are also opportunities to collaborate with NU-Q’s Institute for Advanced Study of the Global South, Artificial Intelligence and Media Lab, and Media Majlis Museum.
