Applications are invited for the Department of Philosophy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Position: Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (Substantive or Substantiable-track) (Ref. 250001J2). Closing Date: November 30, 2025.

The Department of Philosophy at CUHK is the largest philosophy program in Hong Kong, with strengths in analytic, Chinese, and continental philosophy. It is ranked among the top philosophy departments in Asia and worldwide. More information is available at: http://www.phil.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/web/.

The Department invites applications for a substantiable-track assistant professorship or associate professorship, with full professor considered in exceptional cases. Area of Specialization (AOS): Chinese philosophy. Area of Competence (AOC): Open.

Applicants must have a PhD in philosophy by the time of employment. Duties include: (a) pursuing academic research and publications; (b) applying for external research grants; (c) teaching four courses a year in philosophy and general education; (d) supervising and examining postgraduate students; and (e) assisting in administrative work.

Complete dossier should include: (a) a cover letter indicating the rank applied for; (b) a CV with a complete list of publications; (c) a research statement; (d) a teaching statement; (e) two representative papers; (f) previous teaching evaluations if any; (g) for assistant professor, three confidential reference letters; (h) for associate professor, three names of references.
