- Base salary will be in the range $165,287.49 - $212,454.51 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level D or E)
- Based at the Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane
About This Opportunity
The Professor (Level E) / Associate Professor (Level D) in Allied Health Research will provide strategic leadership in clinical and health service research focused on children and young people, aligning with the priorities of UQ, CHQ, and broader paediatric research agendas. The role will offer expert guidance to senior leaders across CHQ and UQ, drive the development of a strong research culture in allied health, and enhance capability, capacity, and impact in this area. The appointee will also be responsible for supervising higher degree research students and integrating research into teaching and clinical practice.

- Shape the future of paediatric allied health: Drive strategic research initiatives that align with the bold visions of UQ, CHQ, and national/international priorities.
- Elevate research excellence: Cultivate a thriving research culture, mentor the next generation of researchers, and build a robust research ecosystem.
- Influence key stakeholders: Provide expert guidance to senior leadership at CHQ and UQ, shaping research agendas and driving impactful outcomes.
- Translate research into practice: Bridge the gap between research and clinical care, ensuring that our findings directly improve the lives of children and families.
- Recruit and mentor top talent: Supervise high-achieving research students and foster a collaborative and supportive research environment.
The employing entity of this position (UQ or CHQ) will be negotiated with the preferred applicant.

About You
We're looking for an exceptional leader in allied health research with a focus on children and young people, bringing proven strategic direction and the ability to secure significant external funding. You'll have an outstanding publication record and a history of achieving clinical impact from your research, along with expert clinical experience in paediatrics. You will be able to demonstrate excellence in building partnerships through strong communication skills, extensive experience in clinical research methodology, and a distinguished background in teaching and supervising postgraduate students.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check, either AHPRA or relevant professional registration plus blue card, and immunisations against measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), varicella (chicken pox), and pertussis (whooping cough). Employer-sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
