The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is seeking to fill the position of professor (f/m/d) for "interaction design" in salary group W2 tenure track assistant professor (with tenure track to W3) or W3 associate professor as soon as possible.
Scientific environment
The professorship will be assigned to the Department of Architecture at the TUM School of Engineering and Design and anchored in the Integrative Research Institute (IRI) Munich Design Institute (MDI).
Tasks
Responsibilities include research and teaching, as well as the supervision and promotion of young researchers. We are seeking an expert in the field of interaction design with a focus on research, development, and transfer in the field of interactive interventions at the interface between architecture, design, and society. Expertise in the following areas is desired: UX/UI design, creative coding, emerging technologies, hybrid and virtual spaces, physical computing, interactive exhibitions, smart materials, design research, and human-centered design. Teaching responsibilities include participation in TUM's bachelor's and master's programs, particularly in the newly planned master's program in design.
Qualifications
We are looking for a person who can demonstrate outstanding achievements, in line with the relevant career level, in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment (further information can be found at www.tum.de/faq-berufungen/).
A university degree in design, an above-average doctorate, or comparable academic qualifications and exceptional pedagogical aptitude are also required. International research experience is expected.
