Offer Description
Conducting scientific research in the field of the theoretical foundations of physics, with particular emphasis on causal modelling of correlations in quantum and classical physics and related areas. Publishing research results in renowned scientific journals; actively participating in the scientific, organisational and expert activities of IFJ PAN; applying for research funding from national and international sources; and carrying out funded research projects.

Skills/Qualifications
- the academic title of professor in the field of physical sciences;
- experience and current research activity, confirmed by publications, in the field of the foundations of quantum physics and causal modelling of correlations;
- documented effectiveness in obtaining external funding for scientific research;
- experience in organising and conducting research carried out in international cooperation;
- multiple foreign research stays confirming experience in working in a diverse research environment.
Welcome:
- comprehensive knowledge of the formalism and interpretative problems of quantum mechanics, as well as the mathematical methods of physics;
- experience in science popularisation activities;
- experience in organising and conducting research carried out in international cooperation;
- knowledge of the principles of science organisation and the mechanisms of research funding.

Selection process
The candidates’ applications are examined and reviewed by the Selection Committee. Based on the submitted applications, the Selection Committee prepares a list of the candidates admitted to the competition and pass it to the Institute Director. The Selection Committee determines the ranking. If need be, the Selection Committee may ask the candidates to give presentations or invite them to interviews. At the session of the Scientific Council the Selection Committee presents a report on its activity with the justification for the choice of the candidate as the winner of the competition.

As the only place of employment on the basis of appointment
In case of employment at the IFJ PAN, the researcher will be required to authorize the Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN to be included in the number of employees conducting scientific activity in the discipline of physical sciences.
Monthly basic gross salary 13 000,00 PLN
The total amount of remuneration is influenced by additional components, such as:
- length of service
- allowance for working under conditions of exposure to ionizing radiation (if applicable)
