Professor in Innovative Pharmaceutical Formulations
Since its founding in 1919, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Université de Montréal has been a leader in training and research on drugs and pharmaceutical care thanks to its innovative, interdisciplinary approach to meeting society’s healthcare challenges. Now installed in the Jean-Coutu Pavilion, it boasts state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms equipped with the latest technological tools, and a bright agora that makes for a welcoming and productive learning environment. Its goal is become a driver of change for the advancement of pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:
- Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program in the field of innovative pharmaceutical formulations. This includes, among other things, designing formulations for biological products or therapeutic conjugates, as well as exploring non-traditional administration routes for these types of products. The integration of AI-based computational tools will be considered an asset;
- Have the opportunity to apply for infrastructure funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI);
- Be eligible to apply for a philanthropic research chair or a Canada Research Chair, depending on available competitions;
- Supervise undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral students in pharmaceutical sciences;
- Teach in French at the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in formulation and drug analysis;
- Actively promote your discipline through conferences, publications, and scientific activities;
- Participate in the institution’s operations through committees and working groups.
Qualifications
- Hold a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmaceutical chemistry, biomaterials, or another relevant field;
- Have research expertise and significant postdoctoral productivity in a relevant area;
- Demonstrate potential for developing collaborations at local, national, and international levels;
- Show strong ability to provide high-quality university-level teaching in French at both undergraduate and graduate levels;
- Hold a salary award or be willing to apply for the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé researcher award program or other salary award programs;
- Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal language policy.
